I was going to say stick it out, but 16 hours?!? I'd keep it just long enough to find something else.

Should I quit my job?
by Jordan ini'm getting a little sick of being taken advantage of.
don't get me wrong there are times when it is a great job, it's probably my ideal job, but it has such a negative effect on me, i'm depressed when i think about going there, i lose practically all of my friday and saturday nights and there are people there that i absolutely detest.
and i'm a keyholder, so for a small increase in salary i get so much extra responsibility and bs over it.

by joanne_ injust wondering if this happened to any of you.
did you ever go to the service group and be assigned to the different car groups.....and then....the sister that is assigned to go with you...decline and say...'i am just going by myself today and do my return vistits by myself'..... damn, i should have complained about that one!
it was very rude!

we get together have wine and cheese and read the bible or discuss things that we might need help with.

Taking advantage of tax loopholes isn't the same as lying about what you owe. Paying more taxes than you legally owe isn't honest, it's foolish. Besides which, your taxes go to causes you do not support or are even morally opposed to, as well as ones you favor.

Would you contribute to expose the Watchtower?
by nicolaou injost tossing an idea about.
would anyone be willing to make regular contributions to an 'exposure fund'?.
it wouldn't be a 'fighting fund', we couldn't hope to compete against watchtower finances or its legal department in that way.

Welcome, Velvetflower. Maybe if you start a thread and post YOUR story, others may learn from it, and be able to move on.

Shunning: Is it really a bad thing?
by thinker ini met my jw wife about 5 years ago.
she da'd shortly after we met and like most people i thought it was terribly strange and wrong that her family shunned her.
for the first two years of our marriage my wife would call her parents on a fairly regular basis.

The way people behave when in a cult is largely due to their cult persona, which is layered over their real selves. The behavior displayed while in a cult may be entirely different than their behavior once they are deprogrammed and the real persona is freed.
But that isn't to say that some people are simply natural jerks.
